On July 2, I experienced Durali Villa in Vernon, BC, at the wedding of Tanice and Murray.  This couple has had a tough year with the loss of their home and contents (including Tanice’s wedding dress) in the Slave Lake fire in May.  In spite of such hardship, Tanice and Murray hosted a wonderful gathering of family and friends that was a joyful celebration and reflection of their resilient spirit.  The Villa’s grounds are terraced with a refreshing waterfall and shady gardens where guests could mingle and stay cool in spite of the almost 30 degree sunny weather.  There was just one moment of anxiety pre-wedding for the bride.  Her little daughter as flower girl was determined to resist wearing her gorgeous, tulle dress in favour of strutting around in diaper and fancy new black patent shoes.  The tears and fuss were completely behind the scenes however, and by the time the bridal party walked down the aisle, little Hailey was all smiles in her frilly gown.  Fortunately Tanice had been able to find another perfect dress and it was with much joy that she and Murray could say their vows and enjoy their special day.  Best wishes Tanice and Murray!
