On March 4th, I performed the shortest wedding ever. But it was also one of the sweetest. It was my first time performing a wedding in someone's home with just some family members present so I wasn't too sure what to expect. When I arrived, I was warmly greeted by the bride's family (and their cute and friendly dog). After some quick introductions, it was not long before I felt like I knew everyone quite well. They made me feel like part of the family! Everyone was excited about the wedding. They had arranged the living room and had put flowers and candles out. The steps had rose pedals on them, and everyone was dressed and ready for the big event!
After explaining some of the details of the ceremony it was time to begin. The bride's mother walked down the stairs, followed by her sister, and then the bride accompanied by her father. I think it was about this point when pretty much everyone started crying. The emotions ran, and love was in the air. The actual ceremony was very short which is exactly what bride and groom wanted. Through their tears of joy, they said their vows and the rest is history.
The crying continued as we shared champaign toasts with lots of laughter from each family member to the new bride and groom. Congratulations Octavio and Zahra and God bless your marriage!
