In the Spring, I officiated a small, intimate wedding for Octavio and Zahra Gil. It took place with immediate family in Zahra's parent's home ending with champaine toasts. I blogged about this event (see "Short but Sweet"). Octavio and Zahra's plan was to be wed in the Spring with family and to throw a big celebration wedding in the summer. So, on Aug 20, I officiated their "second" wedding! This time, it was at the University of Alberta Convocation Hall and the reception was in the ball room at the Radisson Hotel. It was a big wedding with over 25 people in the wedding party! Everyone shared lots of love, laughter, celebration, and encouragement throughout the event. Octavio and Zahra wrote secret vows to one another and read them tearfully during the ceremony. The music was beautifully presented by a string quartet and pipe organ. Family and friends offered readings about love and marriage. I shared a few thoughts about commitment in marriage. It was wonderful for me to work with Octavio and Zahra twice and to celebrate with all their friends and family. Rich blessings to you both. May your future together be happy and full of love.
